Yankee City Theater Project Blog:
"Artist Jon-William Brown joins the YCTP":

A productive weekend: "the YCTP gained a new collaborator in the artist Jon-William Brown. Jon-William’s a photographer who’s been working on a project that parallels the YCTP, called NEWBURYPORT: AN AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE. His project is rooted in fine art rather than performance, though he’s included live elements in the form of slideshows and lectures by local historian Ted Kyrios. Jon-Williams’s art practice involves the digital manipulation of original and antique photos to create a soft, almost painterly feel. His imagery is excellent, and we are very fortunate to have him onboard as a resource."

Boston Legal to the rescue

Crooks and Liars | March 16 2006

Alan Shore (James Spader) from Boston Legal gives one of those great monologues that we all wished would be said by somebody other than a great actor. In the episode "Stick it," Alan Shore's secretary, Melissa (Marisa Coughlan), is arrested for tax evasion, he takes on the case of this outspoken girl who says her late, patriotic grandfather would be proud of her for challenging the government.

Shore: At a presidential rally, parade or appearance. If you have on a supportive t-shirt you can be there. If you're wearing or carrying something in protest, you can be removed, This in the United States of America.- This in the United States of America! Is Melissa Hughes the only one embarrassed?

emailer CS: "James Spader's character gives such a fiery and passionate speech about the lies, mistruths and unethical behavior of this Administration that it made me jump from the couch and yell triumphantly at my TV. Covered everything from lies on WMD, to torture, Abu Ghirab, Guantanamo, and, most importantly, illegal wiretapping"

The new, the old, and the improved: Artist on mission to explore American values through look at downtown Newburyport;

"When Jon-William Brown strolls through Newburyport, he sees a reflection of America as a whole in its small-town charm: families wandering brick sidewalks in a downtown abutting the waterfront; awnings extending from specialty shops; flowers in bloom in the springtime; people at work and play."

Dear Mr. President,

May I introduce to you:

Our USA Culture of Peace Community?

February 10, 2006

‘Newburyport: An American Perspective’ is a multi faceted contemporary art and social exhibit developed by local visionary artist Jon-William Brown. It is aimed at incorporating a photographic and literary retrospective depicting Newburyport’s historical role and significant contributions to the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. It is also intended as a progressive, socially conscious blueprint, designed to serve as a model in establishing a new modern day paradigm based on fundamental personal, educational, trade, and co-creational community values that originally sculpted Newburyport. This multi-dimensional show consists of an Art and Photography Exhibit, Pictorial and Literary Compilation from Newburyport Residents, Special Historical Newburyport Slide Show, and Speaking Presentations by Jon-William Brown (Group Dynamics and Fluid Management), Amy Bacheller (HEAVEN- Personal Transformation and Alternative Healing Modalities), Manny Muros (Yoga Center of Newburyport) on alternative child and adult education. Alex Adrian (Business and Corporate Consulting), and a special presentation on ‘Sustainable Community Development’.
